Born in San Francisco, CA, to New Yorker parents, Emily Nathan has always preferred all things cosmopolitan. Having graduated from UC Berkeley in 2007 with a BA in Art History and Italian Studies, she now lives in New York City and works in the editorial department of Artforum magazine. She has studied and worked abroad, in Bologna, Italy, and considers herself a well-travelled young lady with an appreciation for and curiosity about worlds that are not her own. She speaks French and Italian, dabbles in Spanish and Portuguese, and thrives in cities-- she adores public transportation and large public parks, walk-up buildings and neighborhood laundromats. Weekends are for reading the Times, visits to museums and Chelsea galleries, and foreign cinema. She has been writing all her life, and is a published poet whose work has been featured in Berkeley's Satellite magazine as well as national literary magazine The Iconoclast. She seeks to provoke and engage in cultural and literary dialogue with the arts community, locally, as well as at large.
