Each work brings a voice where words could not describe my own journey. Magazine imagery is ready clip-art, snipped out of context, manipulated and built to form new meaning. I choose images subconsciously and let my instinct direct the structure. It is a process of free-association and deep-rooted discovery. Like listening to a song in a foreign tongue, the beauty of the song can be enjoyed nonetheless. The outcome is mysterious and beautiful.
My process is simple: paper, Xacto-knife, scissors and glue. I usually cut from vintage magazines. The collage process derives from my need to organize and categorize. Much time is spent placing images together and examining relationships, both formal and conceptual.
