Larry Broutman is the photographer and author of award-winning coffee table photography books Chicago Treasure, Chicago Eternal, Chicago Monumental, and Chicago Unleashed.
Broutman has traveled the world over to capture the perfect photograph and has found Chicago to have a plethora of visual inspiration. His work has been awarded a Benjamin Franklin Award for Excellence, a Midwest Book Award for best interior design, an IPPY (Independent Publisher) Award in the Great Lakes Nonfiction category, and he is a finalist in Africa Geographic Magazine's Photographer of the Year contest. He has published his photographs in magazines such as BBC Wildlife and Africa Geographic and has completed photographic projects for the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, Children’s Memorial Hospital Clinic, and The Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. The projects for Lurie hospital developed into the publication of his first photo book, a joyful combination of wildlife and Chicago landscapes, Chicago Unleashed.
Broutman attended MIT where he received his S.B., S.M., and doctorate degree in the field of Materials Engineering and Science in 1963. During his career in Polymer Engineering and Science he was an active researcher, teacher (Illinois Institute of Technology), and writer of over 150 technical articles. He also authored technical reference books and college textbooks in the field of Composite Materials. Broutman has received many honors and awards in the profession of lastics Engineering and was recently elected to the Plastics Hall of Fame.

This full-color, hardcover book explores over thirty Chicago area cemeteries, shedding light on the famous, notorious, and long-forgotten. Each image is accompanied by text detailing the deceased’s historical and cultural contributions.
Chicago Monumental is a gorgeous full-color photographic tribute to over 250 public memorials, statues, and fountains located in the city’s parks, streets, storefronts, bridges, and cemeteries. The book includes the history of each piece of public art and the artist who created it.There's even a fun 3D section of in the back of the book, complete with 3D glasses.
Chicago Unleashed is a collection of whimsical images combining wildlife photographed throughout the world with iconic Chicago urbanscapes. Text accompanying each image provides information on the city's most important art, architecture, tourist sights, and parks, often with a tongue-in-cheek twist.
Chicago Treasure, Chicago Eternal, Chicago Monumental, and Chicago Unleashed are available for sale through Everything Goes Media, Amazon, Baker and Taylor, and at Chicago bookstores and gift shops. All author proceeds from the sale of both books are donated to the Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Disabled, and Access Living, Chicago-based nonprofit service agencies.
