Statement

Born in Mexico City in 1970. Received a scholarship to study architecture at the Cracow University of Technology, graduated in 1998. Moved to the city of Berlin in 1996, where she worked as an architect in architectural competitions in the office Kleihues + Kleihues Architekten untill 2013. 2001 began as autodidact with photography in black and white. 2013 decided to focuse solely on photography. Gabriela Torres Ruiz is a Mexican-German artist based in Berlin. Her photographic practice is built around the theme of silence and contains stark visions of man-made structures in balance with images of raw earth.
