John Gayer is a Canadian artist/writer who has lived in Belgium, the United States, the Republic of Ireland and Finland, where he is currently based. His writing has appeared in Art Papers, ArtSlant, Circa, Espace art actuel, Paper Visual Art Journal, Sculpture Magazine, this is tomorrow, The Visual Artists' News Sheet and elsewhere.

Some recent art projects include his contribution to 21 proposals for the Turbine Hall (Road Books, 2011), Slide Project(or), which took place in Dublin as part of the PhotoIreland Festival 2012 program, and POST-IT, a collaborative billboard poster project sponsored by Cork Printmakers and CIT Crawford College of Art & Design. The latter was presented across Dundee, Scotland, during Impact 8 International Printmaking Conference (August 2013) and in the City of Cork as part of Culture Night (September 2013).
