ARC Gallery 40th Anniv Show mounted at Beverly Arts Center

The 40th Anniversary Show was remounted at the spacious Beverly Arts Center in Chicago. Women Artists over the decades (since 1972) Over 50 women spanning generations participated in this legendary exhibit. BE GOLDEN. RIP. Brooks Golden forever.

I CAN DO THAT photos by Nancy Bechtol-06212 Brooks Golden. Be Golden. for all time. RIP. I met him at the Jenny Lam curated show in 2012. I CAN DO THAT. we drew on each other's art (it was an interactive show--you could improve or destroy at will) He picked up the black brush and proceeded to cover selected areas with black paint or marker. no owls that day, only his "Lucky Number 13"  we had that in common.  [more]

Lost Artists Colony - Chicago uniquely hidden gem

REALLY. You Got to check it OUT.  very different from the 'regular' gallery scene. laced with interesting people, art, music, poetry, in a warehouse setting. these artists are a real mixed bag, along with variety, always interesting. a most diverse talent pool as well as those 'just looking'   Come, you will enjoy the alternative scene. friendly too! and sometimes a few surprises.. the opening night was packed! here is one quote I got for the evening on the collaborative photo wall installation by David and myself. a 6ft by 6ft  work , "Glances of Paris and the Gardens of Versailles" "The show WOWed me. Art:Raw Gallery i n NYC reflective

The inaugural show was fantastic. 300 international artists (juried in from 25,000 entries) . I usually, as most artists, attend my opening events, but  I was unable to fly to NYC,  in person,  but the event was streamed live! The show will ran from February 19 to March 21, 2009 with an opening reception Thursday, February 19, 6-9pm. Native Vibes-- a video commentary

  On "Native Vibes" video by Nancy Bechtol    Distorted like primordial deities seen only in dreams, the (headless) "inverted" native dancers with feet simultaneously on the earth and in the ether are apt symbols for Bechtol's transformations from psychedelic to cosmic.   Continuity is maintained in the morphing manner of a kaleidoscope (sic) as oscillations evolve from micro to macro, evoking initially the throb of cellular organisms and later the revolutions of planetary bodies.
