Why a silent auction?

We have for 15 days, three weekends altogether.  After working two months to put this rave show together, it seems ridiculous not to share it with as many artist and members of the public as possible.  So we are offering some vintage Ansel Adams books, one "naked" copy of each artists photos on display, and other photos done by the photographers at low starting prices, plus other books to attract buyers to our show during a silent auction Saturday, Aug 11 starting at 7 pm.      As many already know, I am curating the all photography group show, "F8 and be there," at Cannery Row Studios in Redondo Beach.      We had an interesting experience while putting the placards by the art tonight (Fri, Aug 2). A woman asked if she could look at the gallery and bought the first piece of art she laid her eyes on.
