I am a writer and curator based in London. My central theoretical interest is in the interpretation and experience of art, which I developed through my PhD thesis on van Gogh's later paintings. I have published widely on art and philosophy, and given talks at Oxford University, the National Museum of Film, Broadway Cinema and the University of Manchester.
I write a column called Radical Aesthetics for Ceasefire magazine, and act as arts and culture columnist for Roves and Roams. I contribute reviews to Spoonfed and Where Art You. I curated the group show, In Dreams Begin Responsibilities, at the Utopian Arts Fest 2011.
Current projects include: a book about the legacy of the YBAs called 'Some Kind of Midas'; curating a group show of emerging young artists on the theme of historical representation; a collaboration with architecture called Brick and Balloon.
