        I’m told that Air Waves is a transmission. is not inspired by the United Negro College Fund's famous advertising slogan "A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste," (1972) which has entered the United States' lexicon, but a riff off a quote from an interview with the Grateful Dead last month in which drummer Mickey Hart and Bob Weir referred to their collaboration and 2009 tour.
