Natalie Hegert joined the ArtSlant team in 2007 as the San Francisco City Editor. She instituted the city-based editorial model for ArtSlant during her year and a half in this capacity. Natalie then moved to Paris and served as the Paris City Editor, as well as assisted the founders with developing ArtSlant's European operations. In 2011, Natalie took over the position as Editor for e-publications with ArtSlant as well as managing ArtSlant's Rackroom interviews. She served as Editor-in-Chief at ArtSlant from 2013-2014.

At various points in her life and studies, Natalie has lived in the United States, Germany, Great Britain, France, and Japan. She completed her undergraduate degree from Long Island University's Global College in 2007 with an area of concentration in Art and Social Change, where she wrote her senior thesis on graffiti and street art and its interaction with the urban environment. In 2012, Natalie graduated from the MA program in art history and theory at Hunter College, New York, where her primary focus was on contemporary art, photography, and graffiti and street art. Her master's thesis chronicled the first instances of exhibitions of graffiti art in commercial galleries in New York City from the early 1970s to the late 1980s.
