Paragon Book Gallery seeks a part-time office assistant at its warehouse location.
Paragon Book Gallery has been the foremost source of books on Asian arts and culture in the West for the last 75 years. Paragon maintains its own publishing house and book distribution service, publishing and promoting the highest caliber Asian art books and Asian research titles.
This is a part-time position, 10-20 hours/week. Monday and Wednesday 12pm-5pm, or Monday-Thursday 12pm-5pm.
Assist in the processing and fulfillment of all online bookstore sales. Assist with webstore administration, marketing, and social media activities. Pack and receive incoming and outgoing book shipments. Ship domestic and international orders using UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL, and freight forwarders. Create and fill out domestic and international paperwork (BOL, commercial invoice, customs forms, etc.). Answer incoming phone calls. Communicate with third-party vendors and other office service providers. Assist with basic order entry and bookkeeping tasks. Assist the owners and manager from time to time on various projects. Assist in social media marketing campaigns.
Candidate must be detail-oriented, focused, and flexible. Prior order fulfillment and shipping experience preferred. PC/Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel skills required. Basic HTML skills preferred. Must be able to exercise good judgment and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. This is a great entry-level position for someone looking to gain experience in the book industry/market. Position requires solid client relations, administrative, editorial, marketing, social media, accounting, and order processing and fulfillment skills.
*Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is highly preferred due to the nature of the inventory and webstore title list.
