When entering work into the SalesRoom, you are asked to provide information on the "Medium" and to select one of our Medium Categories from our dropdown.  This information is extremely important and should be provided carefully, as many buyers search for work based on specific mediums.

Suggestions for Describing Medium

The "medium" refers to the materials used in producing the artwork.  This should be fairly detailed.  For example, 2D works should be described using terms such as (but not limited to):

  • Oil on canvas
  • Oil on linen
  • Acrylic on canvas
  • Acrylic and oil on board
  • Oil and mixed media on masonite
  • Charcoal and graphite on archival paper
  • Acrylic, watercolor, colored pen and ink on archival paper
  • Mixed media assemblage
  • Cut paper collage
  • Found object sculpture
  • Bronze sculpture
  • C-print
  • Silver gelatin print
  • Digital photograph
  • Digital art including photographic and illustrated imagery
  • Etching
  • Lithograph
  • Silk Screen print with acrylic
