The Whitney Museum seeks an upbeat individual committed to providing a positive visitor experience for this public-facing position within the Visitor Services department.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Processing all transactions for the Museum on Ticketmaster VISTA (Point of Sales ticketing system)
  • Working in partnership with Membership to increase Museum revenue with membership sales and annual fund requests
  • Assisting with the daily preparation and maintenance of the lobby and galleries including restocking brochures, changing signage etc., as needed
  • Providing information to visitors in a friendly and professional manner 
  • Distributing multimedia players


  • A minimum of 1-2 years of customer service experience in a retail environment 
  • Good communication skills, personableness, professionalism, and excellent people skills
  • Strong cash handling skills
  • Ability to maintain composure during high volume visitation
  • Previous experience in a non-profit institutions, knowledge of Ticketmaster Vista Point of Sales ticket system, and background or interest in art preferred
