Expressionist Nature Painter Maeve Croghan has a unique interpretation of the traditional subject of nature painting. Maeve’s oil paintings are begun outside. She intensely observes the environment, becoming immersed in it as she paints. The paintings are finished in the studio from her memory and personal interpretation, without photo references. Her love of the land is understood in her energetic and color filled paintings.
Maeve has been the recipient of numerous prestigious juried awards. Recently, her paintings were selected to be exhibited in the Matsumoto Museum in Matsumoto, Japan. Her paintings have also been shown at the Manoogian Art Museum on Mackinac Island, Michigan as well as in museum showings in Anchorage Museum of Art, Alaska, Laguna Beach Museum and the Los Gatos Museum, California, and others.
