Elastic City organizes walks around New York that provides novel and quirky experiences of this much-toured city. The walks are guided by various creative individuals, who offer unique and personal perspectives on the urban plane. Among the offerings are a sound walk around DUMBO’s bridges by artist Daniel Neumann, a walk relating to homesickness by urban designer Einat Manoff, and an investigation of architectural lettering by type designer Ksenya Samarskaya. On Tuesday, May 25, Elastic City will inaugurate a new walk by performance artist and theater director Niegel Smith. Beginning at the fountain in City Hall Park, participants will physically and vocally engage with the numerous monuments scattered in the area. Participation is limited, so book your spot in advance.
