DESCRIPTION

Flora Fairbairn Projects is pleased to present a group show of new works by 50 cutting-edge artists at Merriscourt Farm, Oxfordshire. This exhibition is the second in a series, which began with an exhibition that launched in Londonin December 2008.The artists in the exhibition have been selected from a wide network of contemporary, Londonbased artists that Flora Fairbairn Projects has worked with over the last 8 years as well as recent graduates from art schools in the city, with the works reframed in a new rural context.

Artists include Ian Monroe who came to public attention in 2003 when the Saatchi Gallery featured a large-scale work from the artist's MA show and whose work was included in Edge of the Real (2004), a group painting show at the Whitechapel Gallery and in a group show in Berlin, at Upstairs Berlin Gallery in 2005; Ryan Mosley who has had a solo show at Alison Jacques Gallery and Engholm Engelhorn, Vienna and will be in this year's Jerwood: Nicholas Byrne who has had a solo show at Studio Voltaire and has exhibited in Contemporary Painters Prize London, Paris and New York; Anna Boggon who has had solo shows at Studio 1.1 and Laura Bartlett Gallery; Henry Krokatsis who has exhibited in New York, Brazil, Copenhagen and London and exhibited last year's Reconstruction at Sudeley Castle; Katarina Forss whose paintings were selected for the Bloomberg New Contemporaries in 2007; Liane Lang whose work was selected for Bloomberg ArtFutures 2007; Sarah Douglas whose work was selected for the Jerwood Drawing Prize in 2007 and short-listed for the Deutsche Bank Pyramid Awards in 2005; Robin Derrick who also works as the Creative Director of Vogue and who recently had a solo show, ‘Cut Flowers', in an old train depot in Battersea, Iranian born Anahita Rezvani who had a recent solo show in Lullin + Ferrari, Zurich and Nicola Williams who was selected out of over 1,000 recent graduates to be at the inaugural Anticipation exhibition at the David Roberts Foundation in 2007.
