DESCRIPTION

We are pleased to announce an exhibition of works by Canadian artists Sakis and Kyle Clements at Moore Gallery.

Sakis- Figments of the Imagination

This exhibition inspired by the works of the late Italian author, Antonio Tabucci, is a groundbreaking exhibition for the Greek born Canadian artist Sakis. It brings to life the characters and imagery from Tabucci’s book, Dreams of Dreams, which is a composition of short stories depicting the imaginary dreams of eminent writers, artists, composers and fictional and mythological characters. The paintings in this show are often melancholy, due in part to the influences from the dark periods of history that are often depicted, but they are also alive and vivid. Sakis has returned to his roots of traditional encaustic painting in an effort to capture both the gloomy atmosphere as well as the whimsical nature of these stories as a tribute to Tabuccis life.
