There are reoccurring themes and symbols throughout the work\, including death\, bunnies\, ladders to nowhere\, black hearts and clouds\, among man y others. The visual elements are derived from a variety of sources\, inclu ding classical references\, the artists' own sketchbooks\, as well as a smo rgasbord of popular culture.
