DESCRIPTION

Artists in Action!, in its third year at Girls' Club, invites the public to get to know local artists through a series of four informal artist talks and presentations.

The first Artist in Action! presenter, Marina Font, will share her work, her inspirations and creative processes. Font's work explores issues of identity and concepts of memory and tradition through photography and installation. Enjoy informal dialogue with the artist and audience on contemporary art in general.

Marina was born in Cordoba, Argentina in 1970. She studied design, sculpture, and photography at the Escuela de Artes Visuales Martin A. Malharro, Mar del Plata, Argentina. In 1996 she moved to Boston and studied sculpture at the Museum of Fine Arts School and then traveled through India as a photographer. She spent the summer of 1998 studying photography at Speos Ecole de la Photographie in Paris, and continued working as a freelance photographer. She earned an MFA in Photography from Barry University, Miami in 2009. For more information about Marina's work visit www.marinafont.com

This event is free and open to the public.
