DESCRIPTION

London Canal Museum, in King's Cross, is a transport museum, a historic building, an industrial museum, and sometimes a venue for exhibitions of art! We have a permanent collection of the traditional artwork of the canals, know as "Roses and Castles", or "Narrowboat Decoration". From time to time we also host other works of art or installations, either as special events or additions to the museum's normal offer. We have a tradition of art shows going back some years. In 2001 a display of large-format works hung from the beams on our first floor for two weeks. We have hosted installations from groups of artists, and we take part in Museums at Night each year, usually with an art event in the evening.
