Time/Bank Talk: David Boyle
London E1 7QX
From their initial research into the history of time banking, Julieta Aranda and Anton Vidokle have developed their project to interrogate late Capitalism’s systems and structures. For The Spirit of Utopia, Time/Bank presents their archive, comprising images and articles relating to economics, alternative currencies and their own activities. Throughout the show a series of speakers, from academics, to economists and activists will use this archive to suggest their own alternative modes of exchange and ways of operating.
David Boyle is a fellow at the New Weather Institute and the New Economics Foundation. He was also the founder of the London Time Bank network and co-founder of Time Banking UK and is closely involved in the effort to develop co-production and introduce time banks to Britain as a critical element of public service reform. David Boyle has produced numerous books, publications and reports and was the co-author of the New Economics Foundation’s report A Local Banking System (2011), which set out the case for a diverse banking system in the UK.
