Beneath the Streetlight
Sink Art is delighted to announce its first exhibition, a group show which celebrates works by emerging artists. BENEATH THE STREETLIGHT explores how individual values co-exist with the trends and fashions that make up city-living and architecture. At its centre is the constant juxtaposition of the mundane and the beautiful encapsulated in our everyday experience.
Individuals must be understood in light of their context. Likewise, an environment should be thought of in relation to its inhabitants. Every day, city-living affects us on an emotional level, shaping our ideas and values. With this there is an interplay of cause and effect between environment and the individual, and a creative discourse is established.
The pop-up gallery will be inhabiting the space of ‘Kerry Taylor Auctions’ in Bermondsey – a mere stone’s throw from the White Cube. The minimalist, industrial gallery will be transformed to depict the scenes and abstractions of our experience and will immerse the public in the thoughts and effects which are entailed by the environment we live in.
