DESCRIPTION

Fiona Tan (b.1966 Indonesia, based in Amsterdam) exhibits Vox Populi, London - the final instalment of a series that has included Norway, Sydney, Tokyo and Switzerland.

Throughout 2011,Tan worked from a diverse range of family albums contributed by Londoners across the capital. The collected images focus on both the celebratory and the everyday, and picture the school halls, tourist landmarks, front rooms and sports fields of London.

More than 250 images from over 90 participants make up the final work, presented here for the first time.

Vox Populi, London was commissioned by The Photographers’ Gallery as part of our Soho Projects, sponsored by Bloomberg.

An accompanying artist’s publication, including a text by Brian Dillon, is co-published by The Photographers’ Gallery and Book Works and is available from our Bookshop.
