The Killing Pictures
Artist and curator of les paris sont ouverts, Caroline May, will also be exhibiting her solo show, The Killing Pictures. May’s work explores issues of identity in relation to desire, sexuality and “otherness”. For this new series May researched the homophobic murders that have taken place in London parks over the past decade, and photographed the locations of the murders devoid of any indexes to these events.
Caroline May (b.1975) has recently had a solo exhibition at The Apartment, Athens (2010). Recent group exhibitions in museums include Identities and their Topographies, Centre of Contemporary Art in Barcelona, Spain (2006), Masquerades: Femininity, Masculinity and Other Certainties (2007), Greek State Museum, Thessaloniki, Greece (2006), and the Summer Exhibition at The Royal Academy of Arts, London.
