Bridget Riley is widely celebrated for her compelling abstract paintings which engage with colour, line, space and implied movement. This display focuses on an important aspect of her art which has not been previously exhibited.

Comprising early drawings from life, it features portraits of the artist’s family, friends and models. Bridget Riley Portraits illuminates the roots of her mature work , emphasizing the role of drawing and the importance she has always placed on observation.
