What are Cella Gallery Satellites?

Participating artists are provide unique gallery spaces in which to show and promote their art and are offered professional curatorial services, publicity and marketing.
Who is Cella Gallery?
Cella Gallery has been on the forefront of emerging art in the Los Angeles area since 2008. The original gallery was located in the heart of the NoHo Arts District, where we continue to hold our office spaces along with a number of Satellite Galleries. The first “Satellite” of Cella Gallery was introduced in April of 2009 as an attempt to help a property owner rent his live/work lofts that had been sitting vacant for a number of years. The outcome was encouraging with all of the lofts leasing within weeks of Cella Gallery’s marketing of the space. The success of the first Satellite awakened the interest of many other local property owners as well as provided us with a new business model for the expansion of Cella Gallery.
Who benefits from Cella Gallery Satellites?
Everyone wins with Cella Gallery Satellites.
1. The Community:
Cella Gallery Satellites help to revitalize and beautify vacant properties. They reinvigorate the community by creating vibrant and culturally exciting exhibits. They discourage graffiti and loitering while encouraging local pride. They increase foot traffic, spark tourism and draw new consumers to the area, stimulating local businesses.
2. The Artist:
Being an artist is tough. In a city the size of Los Angeles it is difficult to find a gallery willing to take a chance on your art. Cella Gallery Satellites is the perfect venue for emerging artists and established artists alike. Operating outside of the usual gallery system, Cella Gallery Satellites allows the new artist to show and the established artist to experiment. With guest curators and partnerships with some of the best galleries in Los Angeles, Cella Gallery Satellites always have evocative, exciting and diverse artists looking to show.
3. The Property Owner:
The improvement of the community as a whole will increase property value, but participating property owners will quickly discover that having a Cella Gallery Satellite at their site provides a much more immediate return. Cella Gallery Satellites are innovative and effective marketing tools to attract the desired long-term tenants. We work closely with property owners and commercial brokers to find and target their desired market. Special private events can be held inviting commercial real estate agents to view the property while it is showing it at it’s best. Publicized events increase traffic to the neighborhood and show prospective tenants the potential of the space.
4. The Gallery:
We couldn’t think of a better model for a gallery than Cella Gallery Satellites. We have the benefit of showing world-class art and working with top artists, galleries and curators while increasing people’s awareness about the importance of art for a healthy community. We hope to see Cella Gallery Satellites throughout all of Los Angeles.
CELLA GALLERY SATELLITES WEBSITE IS CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Cella Gallery Satellites are formed through a partnership between Artists, Curators, Property Owners and Communities. Whether working with an individual property owner, or a neighborhood group, the first goal is community outreach. Often we will meet with the Neighborhood Council, Business Improvement District, Chamber of Commerce or Redevelopment Agency to get a better feel of the programs that are already underway and to understand the community’s own vision for their growth. Our desire is to integrate Cella Gallery Satellites into the existing efforts being made.
