DESCRIPTION

Bleicher/Golightly presents I am the Land, a group exhibit featuring landscape artists who subtly blend expression and unusual painting techniques with the traditional landscape genre to create an affinity or personification of the environment. Landscape paintings more commonly evoke and portray the beauty of a location or environment but they have also been used as a form of personal exploration for artists such as Van Gogh and Turner, where the landscape becomes an extension of the self. I am the Land brings together four strong Los Angeles painters who bring this form of landscape the contemporary context.

Artist talks and lectures related to the theme of environmental identity will be scheduled throughout the course of the exhibit. See BGartdealings.com for scheduling.
