DESCRIPTION

Margo Leavin Gallery is pleased to announce Sculpture, a group exhibition on view through 22 August 2009.

Spanning the past forty years, the works in this exhibition showcase the diverse approaches contemporary artists have taken to the creation of three-dimensional work. The ever-evolving definition of sculpture again comes under revision through the juxtaposition of Mel Kendrick’s carved wood to Joseph Kosuth’s neon quotation; Lynda Benglis’ process-based work in wax to Claes Oldenburg’s everyday-turned-odd object; and John Baldessari’s interactive, sound-emitting ear horn to John Chamberlain’s noisily compacted yet now mute crushed and mangled steel sculpture.

All artists included in the exhibition are:

John Baldessari
Lynda Benglis
Jennifer Bolande
John Chamberlain
Mel Kendrick
Joseph Kosuth
Jannis Kounellis
Sherrie Levine
Sol LeWitt
Claes Oldenburg
Mungo Thomson

Margo Leavin Gallery is located at 812 North Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles.
Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
