Spotlight Rosana Ruiz
1- What is the best thing that you love about your work?
To play and experiment with the composition and the colors, to feel my work and tremble with it.
2- What is your idea of perfect happiness?
To be able to make my world the way I dreamed it by ovecoming all obstacles.
3- What is your greatest fear?
Being unable to express myslef through art or dancing.
4- What is the trait you most deplore of yourself?
To be so sensitive and see everything trough a magnifying glass.
5- Which living persons in your profession do you most admire?
I admire all artists and mothers and professionals that struggle against all odds.
6- What is you biggest extravaganza?
To immerse myself in artistic shows where color and sound are everything.
7- What do you dislike most in your work?
The time it takes to be really finished.
8- When and where were you happiest, in your work?
I’m happy all the time. I’m also exteemely pleasead when I see myself grownig as an artist and new endeavors come along.
9- If you could, what would you change about yourself?
I’d like to be more patient.
10- What is your greatest achievement at work?
To do waht I love.
11- Do you feel that you have had someone or something that inspired you to be the artist you are today?
Pollock and Perez Celis, I love the emotion and movement of their work.
12- What is the material that you like to work most and why?
I love ink but also deawing, and translucent techniques.
13- When and where were you the happiest in your work?
In my Studio.
14- What books and writers have influenced your life and your art?
Hesse, Byrne, Bach Coehlo, Cortázar and many others.
15- What music do you like to listen to when you paint or create?
Music with lots of rythm as I love to dance and sing.
16- What role does art play in your life and your work?
Everything. Art is my life.
17- Do you feel that you have had someone or something that inspired you to be the artist you are today? Who and how?
My parents; my mother was a ballerina and my dad a tennis player. And also my grandmothers.
18- Are there people that you would like to work with in the future?
I’d love to work with all deep artists in all expressions.
19- There is a popular saying, that artists never leave. What do you think of this phrase?
We never do.

Besides painting and dancing, I have worked for the las decade on television, conducting art programs , mainly interviews and documentaries of artists and their creative process.
