Sustainability describes a complex dynamic system of relationships to our environment—to our cities, soil, water and air, to our personal habitations, our social connections, our bodies, and our ideas. With the upcoming 40th anniversary of Earth Day, and the message of climate change no longer muffled, the time is ripe both to celebrate and to press on. The artists in this exhibition work in a variety of media and address the issue of sustainability in various ways—through the adaptive reuse of materials and the investigation of locales, by designing a low-carbon foot print residence, creating an eco-loop within an artwork, taking direct personal action, or looking to the impact on land, water, air, health, and social connections-- all with a sense of inventiveness, humor and goodwill.
Please join us for the opening reception on Sat., March 28th from 6-9PM.
**This event is free and open to the public.
