"WEST SOUTHWEST: ABQ - LA EXCHANGE"
LA Artcore and 516 Arts (Albuquerque, New Mexico) produced this collaborative joint exhibition held in both Albuquerque and Los Angeles, featuring artists from diverse backgrounds and communities in the two western cities, featuring the works of Los Angeles artists Saúl Álvarez, Stefano Cossu (A.K.A. Le Industrie Invisibili), Mark Steven Greenfield, George Kalmar, Ehja Kang, Carlo Marcucci, Ramone Muñoz, Jon Nguyen, Sinan Leong Revell, Vincent Valdez, and Albuquerque artists Lea Denise Anderson, Laura Cobb, Sally Condon, Miguel Gandert, John Garrett, Aaron Karp, Orlando Leyba, Trevor Lucero, Yoshiko Shimano and Joshua Willis. In addition, a video program titled "788.34", curated by Bryan Konefsky, and featuring the moving image art of artists Stephen Ausherman, Laura Bouza, Karen Hipscher, Shon Kim, Daniel Martinez, Patricia McInroy, Peter Rand was presented during this exhibition, (part of the annual Experiments in Cinema V.4.2 film festival held in Albuquerque). According to MapQuest, 788.34 is the total mileage that separates New Mexico and Los Angeles.
