Beyond Graffiti II

Beyond Graffiti II is the final show at the A+D Museum's location on Wilshire Boulevard. The exhibition will be a farewell to a beloved cultural landmark, as the building will be destroyed to make room for the new Fairfax/Wilshire metro station located across the street from LACMA.

The second run of Beyond Graffiti is an emotional response to the changing of our neighborhoods and the loss of LA history. In light of our city's constant development toward modernization, graffiti directly provides a dynamic medium to address this cultural loss. Graffiti is more than just adding color or words to a wall - it is expressive gesture vis à vis architecture, design, and the landscape of the city in which we live. We are defining the rich history of the urban art scene that pushes past the preconception of the spray can.

We invite you to celebrate with us the last days of this building with music, art, and conversation. The artwork will be left on the building until it is demolished.
