Motion Tracking: CalArts Post-Graduate Exhibition
The MFA class of 2014 in the School of Art at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) is pleased to announce its graduate exhibition, MOTION TRACKING, on view June 21 - July 12, 2014.
The exhibition will be held jointly at Cirrus Gallery and HYPERHYPER at 542 S. Alameda St. Los Angeles, CA 90013. Presenting new work from graduating MFAs in the programs of Art, Photography & Media, Art & Technology, and Graphic Design, MOTION TRACKING seeks to identify and understand a pattern of subjective invisibility within a selection of artistic productions and strategies. The exhibition maps the layers of physical and technological distance between the artist in control, their image, the site of its projection, and that of its reception. MOTION TRACKING is curated by William Kaminski, an LA based artist and independent curator who has organized exhibitions in LA, New York and abroad, chiefly as co-director of former downtown exhibition space, Control Room. A catalogue designed by the graduating Graphic Design MFAs will accompany the exhibition.
Please join us for the opening reception on Saturday, June 21st from 6 - 10pm. The exhibition will be on view Tuesday - Saturday from 10 - 5pm, and both street and lot parking is available.
Participating artists are from the programs in Art, Photography & Media, Art & Technology, and Graphic Design
