DESCRIPTION

Thomas Solomon Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of work by Korean- American artist Nam June Paik. The exhibition will showcase uncommon works on paper (ink, crayon and oil pastel) as well as acrylic on canvas and photo-based compositions. Also, Untitled (old television), a sculpture Paik created in 1975, will be included.

Paik was a composer, performance artist and member of the legendary sixties neo-Dada international avant-garde Fluxus movement. He worked in a variety of media including object making, installation, painting and drawing and is considered by many to be the founder of video art. Nam June Paik died in 2006. His complete estate archive was acquired by the Smithsonian American Art Museum in 2009.
