DESCRIPTION

EUPHORIA

To launch the holiday season and simultaneously project a collective sense of Hope, The Loft at Liz’s invites you to delve into the realm of euphoria.

Through act or influence, natural or chemical, people are capable of achieving states of heightened emotion and profound elation.  We all long to feel it, but what causes it?  What stimulates the senses, spiking adrenaline and releases endorphins into the nervous system, ultimately catapulting the psyche into euphoria?

The Loft at Liz’s presents Euphoria, a group show consisting of 7 artists who share their personal expressions of euphoria.

Digital photographer, Bob Francis, creates floral digital images reminiscent of Robert Mapplethorpe.  The dancing satyrs of traditional oil painter Patrick Hiatt brings to mind the world of fairytales that elated us as children.  The abstract explosions of light and color painted by Robert Horvath, while Wendell Wiggins captures the exuberance of dance in his paintings. Painter Jason R. Hampton describes his impetus “when a desire captures you for even a split second, and is embedded in your thoughts for what feels like eternity, that’s euphoria.”  Looking through a lens in the womb of Buddha, Luigia Martelloni finds euphoria in daily life activities and Ely Tahan juxtaposes language and industrial images to remind us that euphoria is within our grasp.
