DESCRIPTION

A discussion exploring the future of art colonies, with Mark Allen, Rene Daalder, Michael Parker, Jodi Wille. Moderated by Luke Fischbeck. Utopian algorithms by MC Hymnal. Is the golden age of the art colony still to come? Or are dreams of utopian settlements bobo longings for bygone times? Los Angeles has scores of "colonies" generating geysers of good and bad art. But could creative communities apart from society generate "serious art" or is this a bucolic bohemian fantasy fraught with dystopian perils? What would convince you to live and work in a remote place with artists, builders, and thinkers?
