DESCRIPTION

An all media exploration of the role of chemical reaction (literally or figuratively) in contemporary art practice. Chemical reactions are found in most things, basic life processes, technology, geology, food, and of course culture…Many artists casually employ chemical reactions in their ongoing art-making (painting, ceramics, glassmaking), others employ chemical reaction less obviously. This exhibit challenges artists to better consider their art making process through a willful understanding of the chemical reactions at play in their work.
