Celebrating an extraordinary sixty years of innovation, creation and colourful expression. Samir Mondal, who turned 60 in Mach 2012, concludes the series of celebrations of this occasion by creating another special show of watercolours – ‘EMANATION’
Paintings done in his masterly, inimitable style with watercolours on archival Arches paper. Watercolours that dance and flow to his tune. Watercolours showing fluidity, a transparency yet richness that no other artist can match.
In keeping with the celebratory occasion, all the paintings are still lives with a floral theme. Flowers are greetings of love and life.
Samir’s styles of Still Life paintings have evolved hugely over these sixty years. From the early, formal, stilted style of the British school of painting to the middle period of Experimental work all the way to the current time of Abstracted Post Modern style.
They are all paintings of flowers, of greetings, but all in different styles.
