Couturier Gallery is pleased to announce its first exhibition of South American artist, poet and writer, Arturo Mallman (b. 1953) with his high-gloss, depth and light paintings in the exhibition at-mos-pher-i-um, a show featuring translucent acrylic and resin layered works on wood panels. Arturo Mallmann: at-mos-pher-i-um runs from March 9 through April 13, 2013. The artist’s opening reception is Saturday, March 9, 6-8pm.

His objective in developing this layered style with its glass-like surface is to create a space that presents no barrier to the eye and that gives the illusion of depth through the building up of clear resin atop acrylic paint layers.
