DESCRIPTION

Merry Karnowsky Gallery is proud to present Zero Gravity, an exhibition by artist Nicola Verlato & This Makes Senseby Vonn Sumner. Verlato in this new series of works combines his typical inclination for complex intricate composition with the idea of the possibility of the crash of the entire social economical system we get daily from the media in the last 4 or 5 years. While Sumner's paintings are an attempt to bring together seemingly contradictory elements: the observable outer world and the subjective inner world; the formal possibilities of non-objective painting and the psychological possibilities of representational painting; seriousness and humor; artifice and authenticity; revealing and concealing.
