DESCRIPTION

Hosted by Natalie Zea (Dirty Sexy Money) and Travis Schuldt (Scrubs)

Edward Walton Wilcox earned his BFA in painting with High Honors from the University of Florida. He is the recipient of many awards and accolades and his works can be found in public and private collections throughout the United States. This is his first solo exhibit with Cella Gallery.

Believing that the strongest of emotions are often the catalyst for drawing one’s spirit to the fore, Wilcox seeks to reveal a landscape of both beauty and terror. Looking into the face of truth, truth that may be unsettling perhaps even disturbing to us and exposing or bearing witness to the atrocities humanity inflicts. Wilcox creates a sublime reflection of a psychological world that is now so often neglected as we ever accelerate our modern evolution. The paintings are simultaneously a social indictment and a romantic approval: “a dark romance troubled by nightmares”

Cella Gallery is a contemporary fine art gallery, located in the NoHo Arts District, committed to nurturing the local creative community and developing the careers of their artists through their special events: Music Nights, Artist Salons, and new exhibits approximately every six weeks.
