Melanie Edmunds of M. Edmunds Associates, is pleased to present "neoteric.," an exhibition that explores the work of recent  graduates from visual arts programs throughout California. neoteric generates a critical dialogue between the public and an emergent community of West Coast artists who challenge artistic ideologies and redefine traditional mediums in unpredictable ways.

Printmaking Workshops

Professional screen printer and artist Karen Fiorito of Buddha Cat Press will take you through the process of making your own fine art screen print.  At the end of the workshop, each participant will be able to take home their own print.

The Fair is very proud to present artxwomen - a special section of eight galleries presenting only female artists organized by Accola Griefen Gallery.  Dedicated programming and special installations have been organized for this section.

Kat Griefen, of Accola Griefen Gallery and The Feminist Art Project offers a tour of the highlights of work being exhibited by the six galleries in the artxwomen section.

Collecting for Beginners: Work by Women Artists with Carolyn Miles of Atrium Gallery
Carolyn Miles, Founder, Owner, Director of Atrium Gallery will present a program for the emerging collector using art by women artists as examples.  Learn how to focus your interests and your acquisitions.  What is a "collection?" What are your resources?  Do you need a theme? and will it enhance the calue of the artworks?

Is Feminist Art in Disguise? Talk & Tour with Jessica Porter of Porter Contemporary
Is being a feminist out of fashion?  Does it hurt or help when we identify an artwork as "feminist"? Jessica L. Porter, Owner, and Director of Porter Contemporary, will explore potentially feminist works in the artxwomen section and throughout the Fair, discussing the pros and cons of identifying works as such.

Shadow Puppet Workshop with LittleCollector
LittleCollector's educators will work with families to create shadow puppets and teach kids how to create their own home theaters.  Shadow puppets combine craft with storytelling and help expand children's imagination.

Just Like Andy
LittleCollector uses Polaroid portraits of children to create their own Warhol inspired self portraits.  Artist Matthew Carden and LittleCollector's educators will take Polaroid portraits of each child and help them create Andy Warhol inspired self-portraits utilizing the same techniques, colors and styles as Warhol.  The workshop teaches children about Warhol's work and the thought process behind Pop Art.

Expert Advice on How to Mix Contemporary Art with Great Design
Our panel of experts in art and design, Stefan Lawrence, Founder of Twentieth, Chrissy Crawford, Founder, Hillary Thomas, Principal of Hillary Thomas Designs will give insider tips on how they pair their clients' collection with antiques, sculpture and mid century furniture.  The panel will cover everything from paint colours, to framing and installing works to mixing time periods of art and furniture to make a well designed, cohesive space.

Edition One Hundred contributing artist Miles Regis will share his painting and printmaking process.  Based in Los Angeles, Miles Regis, a Trinidadian-born artist, work taps into the emotions of the exotic cultures of the world and presents them in ways that are relevant to today's modernized society.
