The POWER OF ART (POA) is an annual cultural celebration sponsored by Redondo Beach Art Group (RBAG) with the help of many other community groups. The first POA was held in 2006 at the AES Power Plant, Redondo Beach. POA 07 was held at the Alta Vista Community Center and Courts. POA 08 was also held at the AES Power Plant. POA 09 was held at 655 N. harbor Drive, Redondo Beach.  POA 10 was held at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, Redondo Beach and POWER OF ART 2011 will be BACK AT THE AES POWER PLANT!

We hold the event to showcase the works of RBAG artists, bring innovative art to the South Bay, educate, teach the art experience, and instill the importance of the arts in every person’s life. The POA embraces all the arts: visual, music, dance, film, architecture, writing, and poetry. Read an article in The Beach Reporter about Power of Art 2006, the first year POA was held at the AES Power Plant, and an article in The Easy Reader about last years event.  This years Power of Art has grown from 3 days to 6, and will be held over two weekends in October.  We are looking forward to a new and creative Power of Art, showcasing local and visiting artists. Mark your calendars for October 14-16, and October 21-23, 2011.

All the activities including the catered artists’ reception, parking, entrance fee, music & dance performances, workshops, and film screening are free to the public. A gift from the RBAG to the community of the South Bay. The POA is successful because the RBAG is rich in the spirit of volunteering and the power of collaboration.
