Opening April 2nd, Hold Up Art will present Just the Tip, a group show featuring works from Nick D'Attomo alongside artists Augor, Mike Petow, Leo Eguiarte, Ekundayo Reid, Feeroze Morvari, Joey Chavez, Pharoe, Eric Vazquez, and Alisa Yang. A number of these artists are collaborating on pieces that will be displayed with their individual works.

Nick D'attomo, speaking for the artists as a whole, has said:
"We are unified by an unwavering adherence to a single principle. The work comes first, and it comes hard. We are not interested in notoriety, or comfort. We are not motivated by competitive desire, or blind knowledge. We cherish the freedom to grow independently, and in all directions. A piece of art is the product of a mind at work, it is a mountain in the middle of the ocean, and what you see is, just the tip. We converse, collaborate, then expand."

There is a growing tendency in the gallery world for group shows to get too caught up in the concepts and themes that string a show together, often resulting in the loss of the individual artists, and the nuances that differentiate their styles. Just the Tip is an exhibition bringing together a community of Los Angeles based artists, from traditional watercolorists to graffiti artists with a goal of, as Brian Lee, HUPA Curator says,"Showcasing art for arts sake. Just the Tip is a show unaltered by superfluous themes and limitations."
