DESCRIPTION

Blue Five announces the opening of a new west-side gallery space.

Blue Five is an exciting multifaceted art space dedicated to launching the careers of artists and curators new to exhibiting in the Los Angeles area. It is a place where art and design collide, creating engaging and dynamic exhibits and performances. Run by artist and collector Nancy Larrew, the space focuses on artists' vision while bringing together the needs of artists and collectors.

In collaboration with Bleicher Galleries, Blue 5 gallery's inaugural exhibit "144," is a dynamic group exhibit of over fifty works by talented and sought-after artists. The roster of participating artists spans across the globe, but also includes numerous Los Angeles natives and mixes well known and emerging artists. Artists have created works specifically for the exhibit on 12x12 inch surfaces, and under $500.

"144" is the curatorial debut of David Gorman. Gorman is a consultant for Bleicher Galleries (Bleicher/Golightly Santa Monica and Caporale/Bleicher Mid-Wilshire) as well as a long time artist and collector. Between Los Angeles, New York, Europe, and Asia, Gorman has been a part of the viewing and collecting experience of some of the most desired works on the market. He has applied his knowledge and experience to curate this distinctive show as the first of many progressive contemporary art exhibitions to come.

Artists showing: Airom Bleicher, Nancy Larrew, Douglas Alvarez, Mike Saijo, Simone Gad, Brandon Gillette, David Ohlerking, Lara Dann, Lori Kanary, Joshua Elias, Walt Hall, Terri Berman, Meagan Segal, Vincent Bambini, Katy Unger, Stephen Anderson, David Kail, Joella March, Rebekah Waites, Tina Tammaro, Shannon Rowland, David Gorman and more to be announced.
