DESCRIPTION

LACE is proud to launch PUBLIC INTEREST, a year-long initiative designed to animate the public realm of Hollywood. This series of installations, artist residencies and interventions will showcase contemporary art, architecture and design practices that challenge standard notions of public space and demonstrate the role creative actions can play in bringing out the vibrancy of a place and its people.

For PUBLIC INTEREST: The Summer Cycle, LACE’s galleries will feature a LACE store intervention organized by curator Emma Gray and three new installations by Robert Ransick, Heather Roberge, and Kim Schoenstadt. These environments will set the stage for a robust calendar of summer programs, including participatory projects organized by artist and educator Michael Ano (ASAP), Les Figues Press and Portable City Projects.

SUMMER SOLSTICE KICKOFF:
MONDAY 21 JUNE 2010, 8 – 10pm with special performances by ft Bibles, John Kilduff, Portable City Projects, ASAP, and Divya Victor.
