Deadline: November 17th Exhibition: December 5th- 12th Opening: December 6th

Seeking submissions in any media for a group art exhibition at Project Gallery titled BRAZEN:

Sexual Stigma Overcome. The focus of the exhibition is the empowerment of the individual who

has overcome victimhood and the many different barriers to healthy, joyful sexuality.

Today’s culture is rife with slut shaming, phobias, victim blaming, stigmatization of sexual health

afflictions and sex negativity. As artists we have the ability to illustrate a different narrative. The

aim of this exhibition is to express the freedom that comes from celebration of our bodies and

sexualities (and those of our lovers) as they are. The subject matter of the art can be as varied

as the experiences. Artists are encouraged to explore themes of pain, fear around disclosure,

the cycle of denial, solitude, rejection, rebellion, courage, sexiness, humour, pride, love and

even apathy.

It is time to evolve beyond the stigma surrounding sexuality and instead revel in our agency,

our responsibility for our own well-being, the health of our lovers, and the triumphs and failures

along our journeys as adults.

We are seeking submissions in all media including but not limited to: painting, video installation,

sound installation, collage, photography, clothing / textile and sculpture. We are specifically

interested in showcasing work themed around body empowerment, safer-sex, queerness and
