As a dynamic arts organisation of international standing, the ICA is seeking a Head of Programme whose overall responsibility will be the management and delivery of the ICA exhibitions and events programme.
In more detail, the post-holder is required to have managerial and administrative skills. However, depending on the candidate, the position can be viewed as curatorial in that the post-holder is encouraged to make a valuable contribution to the exhibitions and events programme, working closely with the Executive Director and Creative Team (the Creative Team being led by the Head of Programme).
The Head of Programme is responsible for signing off all exhibitions and events, as well as off-site proposals, with the Executive Director.
While the post has both managerial and curatorial components, it remains essential that applicants have a proven administrative track record that can be applied to the effective coordination of the ICA Creative Team, as well as across the organisation as a whole.
In this capacity, the Head of Programme updates the Senior Management Team (Executive Director, Managing Director, Finance Director) regarding programme delivery, while also line-managing the Creative Team and working effectively with adjacent ICA departments, such as Press, Development, Technical, and Front of House.
The post sits at the head of the Creative Team and below the Executive Director/SMT. The Head of Programme is expected to work closely with the Executive Director and line manage the Curator, Associate Curators and the Gallery and Technical Manager.
This is a significant opportunity for an authoritative and driven individual with excellent multitasking and coordination skills. So if you have an exceptional CV with proven experience and successes in a related field, please send a CV and covering letter to The Administrator, ICA, 12 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5AH or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Closing date: 17 February with interviews taking place the week of 18 February.
