Echoes From Afar

A Time to Keep & A Time To Let Go

A dual gallery and collaboration with

Filmmaker: Ebbe Bassey; Curators: Beatrice Lebreton and Ibou Ndoye; and Production Manager: Belynda M’bay

Artists, Poets, Dancers and Musicians are invited to present work in response to the short film, Siri Oko Fo (Mending Fences) by Ebbe Bassey. 

Echoes From Afar will be presented in two adjacent galleries at Art In FLUX Harlem.  One gallery will present expressions of African traditions we should hold on to and the other will present expressions of African traditions we should let go. 

If interested in submitting work artists should attend the screening of Siri Oko Fo (Mending Fences) followed by a Q & A with filmmaker, Ebbe Bassey

Submission Requirements:  Attend screening.  Artists presenting new work should present an outline with samples of previous work.  Submission application available here.

Submissions are being accepted for visual art (all mediums); poetry/spoken word for wall display and performance during opening and special events in November; dance and musical interpretations of work during opening and special events in November.  Performance pieces should be under 20 minutes.
