Anant Art Gallery represents and promotes Indian contemporary art with a commitment to exploring artistic and cultural values through innovative and meaningful exhibitions. In our vibrant art space in the heart of New Delhi we have brought to the art viewing community, a variety of art exhibitions in diverse media which have been appreciated for their differing themes, and the sheer power of visual expression. The Gallerys exhibition catalogues are an important source of documentation of Indian art, written by eminent art scholars. In 2005 Anant Art Gallery opened a large art space in Kolkata in a prime location, with the intention of increasing the scope of our activities. Anant has been presenting and curating shows over the last three years. Some important shows include: A major photography show was presented by us at the National Museum in July 2004, in collaboration with the IGNCA, entitled the "Middle Age Spread" which included amongst others, photographs by the Late Henri Cartier Bresson.

Anant presented "Ritu: A Gathering of Seasons" , a landmark exhibition curated by Prof. B N Goswamy, in January 2005, which was a "coming together" of the arts. Along with the exhibition was a dance, vocal music and poetry recital evoking and interpreting the seasons. In this exhibition, we had artists from all over the world whose paintings have references to the miniature painting technique and scale. "Negotiating Matters" curated by Roobina Karode was presented in March 2005 which exhibited artworks in diverse media, emphasizing the transformative use of material and its concretization in the making of Art forms.

Anant is also promoting young talented artists whose work is of good quality and yet affordable currently. We are grateful for the goodwill extended to us by various corporate houses and private collectors.

Anant is as much a gallery for young emergent artists as for celebrated artists recognized nationally and internationally. The Gallery aspires towards meaningful showings of contemporary Indian Art and discerning fresh artistic ideas with a view to making connections with the wider audience. We believe in Art that explores new frontiers, celebrates individuality, and mirrors the diverse ideas and values of society that can be stimulating and enterprising, especially at this juncture when the plurality of its expression in India throws new challenges for artists.
